He was born in Terrell, Texas, in the United States of America on December 13, 1967. His father Darrell Bishop worked as a stockbroker and his mother is Louise Annette Tally Dixon. Jamie did not have a wonderful childhood experience after his parents’ divorce shortly after he was born. He was raised by his mother’s adoptive parents, Esther Marie and Mark Talley. At the age of five, Jamie began playing the piano and eventually served as a part-time pianist and choir leader at Terrell’s New Hope Baptist Church.
